A wonderful owl card came from the Lorraine region of France. Fine! It was sent by Serge, who says that he will soon become a grandfather for the first time. It must be great to be a grandfather! Iso-Britanniasta otimme vastaan joulutervehdykset. Kyllä ne tuntuvat hyviltä, vaikka olemmekin nolostuneet myöhäisten kiitostemme puolesta. Olimme liian kauan poissa kotoa. We received Christmas greetings from Great Britain. Yes, they feel good, although we are embarrassed by our late praise. We were away from home too long. The card's flock of ducks on a summer meadow takes our thoughts to the coming warmth. Many thanks to Mark, who sent his greetings from London!
Irlannin ja Iso-Britannian välissä sijaitsee Man-saari, josta emme olekaan aikaisemmin saaneet kortteja. Sen pääkaupungissa Douglasissa asuu Barbara, jonka kortin kuvassa näkyy vanhoja taloja olkikattoineen. Kaunista! Vaikka saarella puhutaan englantia, alkuperäinen kieli on Manx. Between Ireland and Great Britain is the Isle of Man, which we haven't received cards from before. In its capital, Douglas, lives Barbara, whose picture on the card shows old houses with thatched roofs. Beautiful! Although English is spoken on the island, the original language is Manx.
