Mukava saada lukemista viikonlopuksi! Saksan lisäksi postia saapui myös Belgiasta ja Itävallasta.
It’s nice to have something to read for the weekend! In addition to Germany, mail also arrived from Belgium and Austria.
Marinan kortti Belgian Antverpenista tuli kirjekuoressa. Se takasi varman ja ehjän perillepääsyn. Kuvassa näkyy hämyinen puu, jonka oksien lomasta pilkottaa kuun sirppi. Vaikuttava! Kyseessä on René Magritten öljyvärityö: "Kuudestoista syyskuuta".
Marina kertoo sään olleen niin leudon, että hän pystyi kirjoittamaan korttinsa terassilla. meillä ne ajat ovat jo takana päin.
Marina’s postcard from Antwerp, Belgium, arrived in an envelope, ensuring it reached its destination safely and intact. The image shows a shadowy tree with a crescent moon peeking through its branches. Striking! It is an oil painting by René Magritte titled *The Sixteenth of September*.
Itävallan Wienistä "lennätti" meille Wolfgang pingviinejä. Hauskoja! Hän toivottaa meille mukavia matkoja. Itävallassa emme ole käyneet. Se on kyllä kaunis ja vuoristoinen maa. Wolfgangin mielestä Innsbruck on kaikista paras.
Wolfgang "flew" some penguins over to us from Vienna, Austria. They’re fun! He wishes us pleasant travels. We haven’t been to Austria ourselves, though it is certainly a beautiful, mountainous country. Wolfgang thinks Innsbruck is the best place of all.
Wolfgangin kortti tuli myös kirjeessä. Kuoressa juhlistettiin Erlauf-laakson rautatietä.
Wolfgang’s card also arrived in a letter. The envelope celebrated the Erlauf Valley Railway.
Maailman postikorttipäivää juhli Tini Saksassa lähettämällä meille teemaan sopivan kortin. Kiitos siitä! Tini oli kirjoittaessaan lomalla aurinkoisen Itämeren rannalla. Siksi hänen terveisensä tuntuvat erityisen mieluisilta täällä sateisen syksyisessä Suomessa.
Tini celebrated World Postcard Day in Germany by sending us a card that fit the occasion perfectly. Thank you for that! She was on holiday on the sunny Baltic coast when she wrote it, which makes her greetings feel especially welcome here in rainy, autumnal Finland.
Toinen Saksa-kortti tuli Ulmista Svetlanalta. Kortissa on erikoinen linnun kuva. Se onkin luonnontieteellisen museon "kuriositeettihuoneesta". Hieno! Svetlana kertoo harrastavansa puutarhanhoitoa, lukemista ja teekutsuja. Kuulostaa mukavalta. Hyvää syksyn jatkoa Ulmiin!
Another card from Germany arrived from Svetlana in Ulm. It features an unusual picture of a bird—one that comes from the "cabinet of curiosities" at the natural history museum. It’s great! Svetlana mentions that she enjoys gardening, reading, and tea parties. That sounds lovely. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the autumn in Ulm!
