Alun perin japanilainen Tomoko, joka on asunut 30 vuotta USA:ssa, lähetti meille kortin japanilaisessa maisemassa näkyvästä linnasta. Itse asiassa hän kiipesi ylös sen torniin oltuaan tapaamassa sukulaisiaan.
Hän asuu Ohion osavaltiossa keskellä maissi- ja soijapapuviljelyksiä. Ohion Columbus on Mommille ja Papalle tuttu, he kävivät siellä 15 vuotta sitten. Suuret kiitokset kortista ja terveisistä!
Originally from Japan, Tomoko, who has lived in the US for 30 years, sent us a card of a castle in a Japanese landscape. She actually climbed up its tower after visiting relatives.

Minnesotan Burnsvillestä, 4347 mailin eli 6995 kilometrin päästä saimme suuren kortin Taralta ja Mychalilta. Heidän korttinsa on Postcrossingin 20-vuotisjuhlan kunniaksi painettu. He ovat nähneet paljon vaivaa kirjoittaessaan ( selvällä käsialalla ) tietoja osavaltionsa historiasta, ruokalajeista ja erikoisista keksinnöistä. Alkuaan väestöä on muuttanut sinne paitsi ranskankielisestä Kanadasta, myös Skandianviasta. Heidän erikoisruokaansa on lipeäkala - tuttu Suomessa - tai tator tots: perunaraasteesta muotoiltuja, friteerattuja pyöryköitä. Erikoisista keksinnöistä mainittakoon vielä vesihiito, scotch tape tai lentokoneen musta laatikko.

From Burnsville, Minnesota, 4,347 miles away, we received a large card from Tara and Mychal. Their card was printed in honor of the 20th anniversary of Postcrossing. They have taken great pains to write (in clear handwriting) information about their state's history, cuisine, and special inventions. Initially, the population moved there not only from French-speaking Canada, but also from Scandinavia. Their specialty is lye fish - familiar in Finland - or tator tots: deep-fried balls made of grated potatoes. Other special inventions include water skiing, scotch tape, and the black box of an airplane.

Winfried, "vanha luu", kuten hän itseään nimittää, lähetti oikein kauniin kuvan Berliinin eläintarhan portista. Itsestään hän kertoo olevansa jo eläkkeellä vaimonsa kanssa. Winfried, the "old bone", as he calls himself, sent a really beautiful picture of the gate of the Berlin Zoo. He says that he is already retired with his wife.
