Ukkosmyrskyn pyyhkiessä seutumme yli, onnistuimme käväisemään postilaatikolla. Kyllä kannatti: Etelä-Korea, Saksa ja Puola olivat lähettäjämaat.
Etelä-Korean Cheonanista Yoonjeong lähetti lintukortin, mikä pani miettimään uhanalaisten eläinten kohtelua. Onneksi asiaan paneudutaan eri puolella maapalloa. Kuvassa Crested ibis eli Japaninibis. Hänen kortissaan on myös erittäin hienot postimerkit. Kiitos paljon!
Yoonjeong from Cheonan, South Korea sent a bird card, which made us think about the treatment of endangered animals. Fortunately, the issue is being addressed on a different side of the globe. In the picture Crested ibis or Japanese ibis. Her card also has very nice stamps. Thank you very much!

Another card came from Monika in Poland, "Greetings from Leborka". It is Monika's hometown, and she talks about its buildings, e.g. from the tower, which is the symbol of the city, and from her primary school. Looks like a great place! Many thanks!
Frankfurtin läheltä saimme Hillin "pehmoisen" kortin. Siinä villava lammas kököttää lankojensa keskellä. Langat lienevät käsin värjättyjä.

Near Frankfurt we got Hill's "soft" card. In it, a woolly sheep bleats among its threads. The threads are probably hand-dyed.
We were very surprised because the text was written in good Finnish. She complained about the hot and stormy summer. Our summer has been changeable. We wish you a calmer autumn! Thanks for the card and greetings!
Emme tiedä, "kasvaako" Alankomaissa riikinkukkoja luonnossa. Saimme kuitenkin Karinilta sellaisen vallan ihastuttavassa väriloistossaan. Olemme joskus nähneet riikinkukon levittävän pyrstönsä - se oli uskomaton!

We don't know if peacocks "grow" in the Netherlands in the wild nature. However, we got one from Karin in its delightful color brilliance. We have sometimes seen a peacock spread its tail - it was incredible!

From the shores of the Baltic Sea in Poland Piotr sent us a picture of the impressive building Wielkopolski Park Narodowy. Is it some kind of observation tower? The park itself is a Polish national park with natural attractions.

From San Francisco, we got a well-known view: a cable car climbing to the "stars". It was sent by Tali and included a joke, which we immediately tried on Pappa. The last card from the USA came from Susan in Alexandria VA near the US capital Washington DC. She seems to have a very international background, was born in Japan, but is a Korean American who grew up in the USA. The image on her card is a very atmospheric morning mist hovering over the Blue Ridge Mountains. The mountain in question stretches across the territory of several states. Susan likes to wander there, forgetting the rush and stress of everyday life. We can well imagine! Great! Thank you for the lovely card!

We got the next Postcrossing friend from Melisa, who lives in Dordrecht. She is a Ukrainian who has lived in the Netherlands since 2022. In June she visited Florence and was absolutely "struck dumb" with delight when she saw this white museum wall; in the picture it certainly doesn't look as white as it actually is in nature. This time our card cavalcade ends in Lithuania. From there, near the Baltic Sea, in the small town of Siauliai, Edita sent us a wonderful fairy tale card. I hope our postman's back has been able to withstand this load, which we received after returning from southern Finland. Four cards from Germany, three from the Czech Republic and the USA, two from the Netherlands, one from Lithuania and Japan - how much does that make in total: our calculator says fourteen ( 14 )!!!!

Hana's greetings come from the town of Brezova near Sokolov, where the picture on the card was taken. A beautiful castle is located in the middle of a small, beautiful park. Also the next card is from an old historical city; Prostejov is its name and it is located in the central parts of the Czech Republic.
