Kanadan kuulumisia

 

Joskus posti on hassulla päällä; tänään, esimerkiksi, saimme kolme korttia - kaikki Kanadasta.

Sometimes the mail is funny; today, for example, we received three cards - all from Canada.

Etelä-Manitobassa asuva Hannah sanoo olevansa Halloween-hassu. Siksipä hän lähetti meille "pelottavan" korttinsa jo nyt, vaikka siihen on vielä aikaa. Kiitos paljon! Olemme hengessä mukana!

Hannah teki myös oman Halloween-tempauksensa: hän on sulkenut yllättäen Postcrossing-tilinsä!!!!

Hannah, who lives in southern Manitoba, says she's a Halloween freak. That's why she sent us her "scary" card now, even though there's still time. Thank you very much! We are in the spirit!

Hannah also did her own Halloween prank: she has unexpectedly closed her Postcrossing account!!!!

Kaksi seuraavaa korttia liittyvät Kalliovuoriin. Andrealta saimme vuorilla asustavan wapitin - voi miten uljas eläin. Andrea kuvailee eloisasti maansa luontoa ajatuksenaan houkutella meidät vierailemaan Kanadassa. Se olisi hienoa! Suomen luonto muistuttaa jossain määrin Kanadaa, vuoria tosin meillä ei varsinaisesti ole. Suuret kiitokset kortista ja kertomuksesta! Au Revoir!

The next two cards are related to the Rocky Mountains. Andrea gave us a wapiti that lives in the mountains - what a brave animal. Andrea vividly describes the nature of his country with the idea of attracting us to visit Canada. That would be great! Finland's nature resembles Canada to some extent, although we don't really have mountains. Many thanks for the card and the story! Au Revoir!

Edmontonista saimme lisää Kalliovuorten vaikutelmia. Alin maisemassa näkyy aikaisen aamun auringonnousu. Vuorten laet ovat auringon kultaamat. Kiitos ihanasta, tunnelmallisesta kortista!

Ali kertoo kesän olleen kuuma ja kiireinen, mutta nyt syksyn tullen alkaa helpottaa ja puutkin muuttavat värikkäiksi. Hyvää syksyä!

From Edmonton we got more impressions of the Rocky Mountains. The landscape shows the early morning sunrise. The tops of the mountains are gilded by the sun. Thank you for the wonderful, atmospheric card!

Ali says that the summer was hot and busy, but now that autumn is coming, it's getting easier and the trees are turning colorful. Happy autumn!

Padasjoelta paluun jälkeen postilaatikkoamme koristi vain yksi, mutta varsin kaukaa tullut kortti. Jingye Lu Beijingistä, siis pääkaupungista, lähetti kuvan suurkaupungin pilvenpiirtäjistä. Se edustaa suurvallan pääpaikkaa näyttävästi. Jingye Lu on yliopisto-opiskelija, joka on kiinnostunut eri maiden kulttureista. Postcrossing sopii hänelle oikein hyvin. Hän kertoo olevansa rasittunut kesän kuumuudesta; kortin kirjoittamisen aikaan lämpötila oli ollut 40 C - onneksi ilmastointi tuo helpotusta. Me kiitämme kovasti kortista ja toivomme viileämpiä ilmoja!

After returning from Padasjoki, our mailbox was decorated with only one card, but it came from quite a distance. Jingye Lu from Beijing, i.e. the capital, sent a picture of the big city's skyscrapers. It represents the capital of a great state in a spectacular way. Jingye Lu is a university student who is interested in the cultures of different countries. Postcrossing suits him very well. He says that he is stressed by the summer heat; at the time of writing the card, the temperature had been 40 C - fortunately, the air conditioning brings relief. We thank you very much for the card and hope for cooler weather!
