Rapakon takaa!

 

Tänäänkin on antoisa päivä. Kaikki kortit tulivat Pohjois-Amerikasta, kaksi USA:sta ja yksi Kanadasta.

Today is also a rewarding day. All cards came from North America, two from the USA and one from Canada.

Tässä ovat Dianen kortit Pohjois-Carolinasta, missä hän asuu aviomiehensä ja appensa kanssa sekä lukuisten vuohien, koirien ja kissan kanssa. Heidän tilallaan kasvatetaan erilaisia kasviksia kodin tarpeisiin. Vuoden päästä Diane toivoo pääsevänsä eläkkeelle. Kaikkea hyvää teille!

Here are Diane's cards from North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and father-in-law and several goats, dogs and cats. Different vegetables are grown on their farm for home needs. In a year, Diane hopes to retire. All the best to you all!

Jessican kortti saapui Philadelphian läheltä Allentownista. Hän käytti Google-kääntäjää ja sai kirjoitetuksi myös selvällä suomenkielellä. Hän epäilee, että hänellä on ihanteellisin mahdollisin työpaikka Postcrossing-harrastajalle. Se on nimittäin USA:n postilaitos. Niin varmasti onkin. Jessica's card arrived from Allentown, near Philadelphia. She used Google Translate and got it written in clear Finnish as well. She suspects she has the most ideal possible job for a Postcrossing enthusiast. It is, after all, the US Postal Service. It certainly is. Thank you for the fun Peanuts card and stamps!

Calgaryn tunnetusta jääkiekkokaupungista Kanadasta saimme Lisan sykähdyttävän vuoristomaiseman. Siellä olisi mahtavaa viettää lomaa vaellellen. Kiitos paljon maisemasta!

From the famous hockey city of Calgary, Canada, we got Lisa's breathtaking mountain scenery. It would be great to spend a holiday hiking there. Thanks a lot for the scenery!

Nolottaa

 Viime postauksessamme valitimme kurjaa kohtaloamme. Eilen sitten postilaatikko pullisteli lähetyksiä, joiden rekisteröimisessä meni koko ilta - ja tänään tuli vielä yksi lisää. Nyt nolottaa!

In our last post, we were sorry for our miserable fate. Yesterday, the mailbox was bulging with shipments that took all evening to register - and today there was one more. Now that's embarrassing!

Eilen saapui kortteja  USA:sta, Espanjasta, Saksasta, Belgiasta, Alankomaista ja Kyproksesta sekä tänään Slovakiasta.

Cards arrived yesterday from the USA, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Cyprus, and today from Slovakia.

Tämän väriloiston lähetti Nadav Kaliforniasta San Franciscon alueelta. Kortissaan hän kertoo USA:n erilaisista ilmasto- ja luontotyypeistä. Mielenkiintoista! Profiilissaan hän kertoo matkustavansa elokuussa Colombiaan ja lokakuussa - huom! Suomeen, Baltian maihin ja Puolaan. Varsin matkustavainen herra! Toivotamme hyviä matkoja! Kiitos kortista!

This burst of color was sent by Nadav from San Francisco, California. In his card, he talks about the different types of climate and nature in the USA. Interesting! In his profile, he says that he will travel to Colombia in August and in October - note! To Finland, the Baltic countries and Poland. Quite a traveling gentleman! We wish you good travels! New Yorkista Anja muutti Espanjaan, jossa hän toimii kuvittajana. Katsokaapa, miten hienon ja mielikuvituksellisen kortin hän on maalannut!

From New York, Anja moved to Spain, where she works as an illustrator. Look at what a beautiful and imaginative card she has painted!

 

Hän on hyväsydäminen ihminen, sillä hän pelasti New Yorkissa linnun ja toi sen mukanaan Espanjaan, missä perheeseen on tullut lisää lentäviä ystäviä. Paljon kiitoksia kauniista kortista!

Saksan Frankfurtista saimme Brittalta kukkaterveiset. Kiitoksia! Hän kehuu kaupunkiaan Euroopan Keskuspankin kodiksi. Siellä on myös Saksan suurin lentokenttä. Meitä viehätti hänen kertomuksensa, miten hän pitää lauantaiaamuista, punaviinistä ja mansikoista. Toivotamme kauniita lauantaiaamuja!

We received floral greetings from Britta in Frankfurt, Germany. Thank you! She praises her city as the home of the European Central Bank. It is also home to Germany's largest airport. We were charmed by her story of how she likes Saturday mornings, red wine and strawberries. We wish you beautiful Saturday mornings!

Belgian Antwerpenista Els postitti meille Marimekkoa - se on maailmalla tunnettu brändi.  Hän kertoo, miten hänellä oli vapaapäivä töistä. Sen hän käytti Postcrossaamiseen, ruoanvalmistukseen, jooga-harrastukseen, lukemiseen sekä juttelemiseen aviomiehen kanssa. Kuulostaa mukavalta! Me kiitämme terveisistä sekä kortista!

From Antwerp, Belgium, Els mailed us some Marimekko - it's a world famous brand. She tells how she had a day off from work. She used it for Postcrossing, cooking, yoga, reading and talking with her husband. Sounds nice! We thank you for the greetings and the card!

Kuten Els edellä kolme seuraavaa Postcrossaajaa lähetti korttinsa kirjekuoressa. Niinpä lähetys tulee perille naarmuitta. Oikein suositeltava tapa!

Like Els above, the next three Postcrossers sent their cards in an envelope. So the shipment arrives without scratches. The most recommended way!

Alankomaista, Zwijndrechtista ( toivottavasti kirjoitimme nimen oikein ) isoäiti Hanny lähetti kirjekuoressa kaksi korttia, joista toisessa hän näkyy miehensä kanssa kotitalonsa luona ja jossa on esiteltynä kauniita paikkoja Zwijndrechtista.

From the Netherlands, Zwijndrecht ( I hope we spelled the name correctly ), grandma Hanny sent two cards in an envelope, one of which shows her with her husband at her home and which shows beautiful places in Zwijndrecht.

Tässä toisessa kortissa Hanny kertoo hänen nukkensa Cilan lähettävän meille terveisensä. Miten kivaa! Paljon kiitoksia! Lapsenlapset leikkivät Cilalla, kun he usein tulevat isovanhempiensa luokse.

In this second card, Hanny tells us that her doll Cila is sending us her greetings. How nice! Many thanks! The grandchildren play with Cila when they often visit their grandparents.

Kyprokselta saimme kolme korttia. Ne lähetti Olga. Hän kertoo olevansa venäläinen, joka on asunut saarella jo lähes kolmekymmentä vuotta. Hänellä on laaja kreikkalainen perhe. Hänen korteistaan välittyy aurinkoinen, kreikkalainen ilmapiiri. Paljon kiitoksia niistä! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τις όμορφες κάρτες σας!

We received three cards from Cyprus. They were sent by Olga. She says she is a Russian who has lived on the island for almost thirty years. She has a large Greek family. Her cards convey a sunny, Greek atmosphere. Thank you very much for them! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τις όμορφες κάρτες σας!

By the way, this is the first letter we have received from Cyprus!

Tessaloniki sijaitsee manner-Kreikassa.

Nämä upeat kortit tulivat siis eilen. Tänään hienoon joukkoon tuli lisää vielä yksi kortti. Sen lähetti meille ukrainalainen Julia, joka asuu perheineen Bratislavassa Slovakiassa.

Kortista tähystää ystävällinen, keltainen satulintu, joka on "tehty rakkaudella ja taianomaisesti". Oikein paljon kiitoksia! Pidämme siitä kovasti, kuten myös lintuparvesta, jonka olit liimannut korttiin. 

So these wonderful cards arrived yesterday. Today, one more card was added to the great group. It was sent to us by Ukrainian Julia, who lives with her family in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The card features a friendly, yellow fairy tale bird that is "made with love and magic". Thank you very much! We like it a lot, as well as the flock of birds you glued to the card.

Latviasta

 Onko tämä oikein: 20 ( kaksikymmentä !!! ) päivää sitten saimme edellisen kerran kortin. Se on EPISTÄ! Olemmehan koko ajan lähetelleet itse!

Tämän purkauksen jälkeen voimme iloksemme kertoa saaneemme Madaralta kortin Riikasta, Latvian pääkaupungista. Siinä näkyy upeassa panoraamassa katedraalin kupoli, Krämu-katu, kaupunginvaltuuston rakennus, Skärnu-katu sekä ortodoksinen kirkko.

Madara toivoo joskus saavansa oman koiran. Kyllä hän sen aikanaan saa! Me ainakin uskomme niin.

Is this correct: 20 ( twenty !!! ) days ago we got a card last time. It's NOT RIGHT! After all, we've been sending them ourselves all the whole time!

After this outburst, we are happy to say that we received a card from Riga, the capital of Latvia, from Madara. It shows a wonderful panorama of the cathedral dome, Krämu-street, the city council building, Skärnu-street and the Orthodox church.

Madara hopes to have his own dog someday. Yes, he will get it in time! At least we think so.

Kissalta Kiinasta

 Valtavan hieno kukkaiskortti Kiinan Guangdong-provinssista Etelä-Kiinasta. Kuvassa on varmaan "hippi", ei kun hippiäinen - satulintu ainakin. Kaunis! Sen lähetti meille Milky, joka kertoo profiilissaan olevansa lyhytkarvainen brittiläinen kissa, jolla on valkoinen turkki ja siniset silmät. Mainiota! Kortin osti Milkyn äiti matkamuistoksi käydessään Hongshan Metsäeläintarhassa. Ja nyt se on meidän! Suuret, suuret kiitokset.

A very nice floral card from China's Guangdong province in southern China. There is probably a "hippie" in the picture, not a goldcrest - at least a fairy tale bird. Beautiful! It was sent to us by Milky, who says in his profile that he is a British shorthair cat with white fur and blue eyes. Excellent! The card was bought by Milky's mother as a souvenir when she visited the Hongshan Forest Zoo. And now it's ours! Many, many thanks!

One of them brings to mind the Chinese lunar probe, which these days is returning from the moon. Interesting!
